Decolonize-us: volunteering for equal opportunities

The Decolonise project! says "let's stop" and proposes to analyze how we work, how we influence our environments and how power and resources are distributed among those of us who work as volunteers.
The Subir al Sur intercultural volunteer program of Fundación SES participates in Decolonise! orn project that aims to build knowledge and develop tools to ensure equal participation of young people in international volunteering between the countries of the North and the South.
Decolonise! integrates a consortium of 10 organizations from Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa and focuses on concrete actions that focus on decolonization for the development of equitable volunteering practices, through deep reflection on environmentally sustainable practices, understanding climate colonialism and expanding our environmental sustainability guidelines, as well as incorporating important elements related to digital learning.
It is a 30-month project, financed by the European Union, which has some key components: survey and study development, incidence and dissemination, production of tools and digital materials. Young people, social organizations and referents or specialists in the subject will participate in all of them.
It seeks to generate knowledge for a decolonizing approach in volunteer practices that involves promoting greater mobility and participation of young people from the global South in international and intercultural projects, developing more projects committed to the environment and environments, strengthening the capacities of volunteers in the network framework and make visible an agenda of recommendations to public policies and decision makers on the matter.
Some of the themes that will cross the project's actions are: neo-colonialism; global justice, diversity and intersectionality.
