climb south was created in 2005 by Cecilia Milesi with the desire that more young people from Argentina and around the world have the opportunity, like her, to learn through local-global volunteering. Today, it is the intercultural volunteer program of SES Foundation that promotes community participation and youth leadership through Education for Peace.


In climb south, we work from diversity to care for the world.

Mission: Promote intercultural education processes for peace, facilitating the meeting of solidarity between people from different regions of the world and the community.

Vision We aspire to a world where young people are protagonists of a transformation towards a more just and equitable society.

Therefore, it is a priority that the Volunteers of the different countries of the region and of the world achieve an articulation such that allows us to express ourselves quickly, clearly and responsibly about the great problems that affect one of its parts, afflict the all of humanity. The need to operate in networks has become a priority, and in this sense, the consonance is total, since Volunteering and Social Networks are two dynamics with broad points in common.

Cecilia Milesi
Sociologist specialized in governance, conflict prevention, accountability and inclusive development. Founder of Subir al Sur, an Argentine initiative that promotes youth leadership and intercultural education. He launched Global Change, a social enterprise that co-organizes innovative experiences and dialogues. Independent advisor to the United Nations (UNDP, UNV, UNOSSC) and to other human rights and political participation organizations such as Amnesty International, Oxfam GB, Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO), Asuntos del Sur, among others. Master of Violence, Conflict and Development from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) of the University of London, and graduated with honors as a sociologist from the University of Buenos Aires.

Anja Stuckert
Anja Stuckert, who has a PhD in education, has more than 20 years of work experience in youth participation, gender equality and international development. In August she started as General Secretary of the ICYE International Office in Berlin. He worked with Plan International in different positions. Anja is passionate about social justice, inclusion and youth participation in social change. She has experience working on programs and campaigns that address the root causes of poverty, discrimination and exclusion in various countries in Asia, Latin America and Africa.

Francisco Somoza
Graduated with the title of UBA Dentist. He is currently Coordinator of UBA Educational Social Practices. He carried out extension in his primary studies, thus being a Specialist in UBA Endodontics and a Specialist in UBA Prosthodontics. Academically, he fulfills the functions of Regular JTP of the Endodontics Chair of the UBA and Professor of the Specialization in Endodontics UBA.

Communicator with a Specialty in Development, Master in Socio-environmental Studies and specialist in International Cooperation, with an emphasis on South-South Cooperation in Latin America and the Caribbean. For 12 years he has worked in the field of development, especially in environmental issues, higher education and international cooperation management. He has professional experience in the public sector, both with central and local governments, as well as with civil society organizations and cooperation agencies.

Enrique Ochoa
Enrique Ochoa has a degree in Political Science, graduated from the University of Buenos Aires and a specialist in International Relations and Negotiations from the University of San Andrés and FLACSO Argentina. He has extensive experience as a consultant in the Ministry of Education of the Argentine Nation, specializing in the promotion of service-learning projects in schools, Higher Institutes, Universities and youth organizations. Since 2010 he has acted as an external consultant in various technical assistance for Latin American Universities. From the creation of CLAYSS Civil Association, he was in charge of developing the organization's International Relations, coordinating training and follow-up actions for higher education institutions, and acted as Secretary of the Latin American node of the Talloires de Universities Network. As of 2016 he acts as Executive Director of CLAYSS.

Gustavo Sampayo
He has been working for more than thirty years in the field of Civil Society organizations. For more than 20 years, he was in charge of volunteer coordination at the Argentine Red Cross, working in this role in various emergency and disaster situations. He currently coordinates the training of volunteers for the different activities carried out by the organization.

Gustavo Sampayo
He has been working for more than thirty years in the field of Civil Society organizations. For more than 20 years, he was in charge of volunteer coordination at the Argentine Red Cross, working in this role in various emergency and disaster situations. He currently coordinates the training of volunteers for the different activities carried out by the organization.

Mauricio Giraudo is Director of Strengthening Civil Society of the Ministry of Human Development and Habitat of the City of Buenos Aires, Master in Political Science from the Rey Juan Carlos and Francisco de Vitoria Universities of Madrid, Diploma in Political Theory and Public Policies from the Christian Democratic Organization of America in Chile and Mexico, and Pharmacist from the National University of Rosario. In his journey through the public service, he served as National Director of Pre-investment of the Ministry of Economy and Public Finance of the Nation, General Director of Procurement and Services of Anses, Coordinator of the Redevelopment Project of the Playón de Chacarita Neighborhood of the Housing Institute of the City of Buenos Aires, among others.
