Victoria Louise Lovelock
Vicky discovered the international volunteer service in 2003 when he decided to travel the world and ended up participating one year of the European Volunteer Service program through Solidarités Jeunesses (SJ) in La Croisèe des Regards, a project in the middle of a forest located south of France. This experience was profoundly transformative and was the beginning of a path that he could no longer leave. The next step was the work at the SJ National Office in Paris and participation as a member of the SJ steering committee. During that period Vicky became involved in Youth Action for Peace (YAP) working on Arte Diem 2005 with SJ and participating in several working groups within YAP. Her participation in SJ and YAP led her to the meeting with Subir al Sur in 2006, at a YAP Congress. Vicky made the decision to travel to Argentina, and developed a study trip through South America, supported by SJ and Climb South for YAP. Since 2006 Vicky has actively participated in the multiple projects developed by Subir al Sur, until in 2008 he acquired the position of Project Technician. After a semi-annual sabbatical period in the jungle that was taken in search of an alternative lifestyle, he went back up to the South, this time assuming the position of Program Coordinator, in 2009. Vicky is still part of different volunteer organizations and It works towards the goal of building a Latin American volunteer service network. Currently, Vicky lives and works in Villa Ana, in the north of the province of Santa Fe and considering herself a citizen of the world: she dreams of a world without borders.
